Interview with Mantri Pragada Markandeyulu, The author of King Kong Raj Planet and The Warrior


Mantri Pragada Markandeyulu is a retired  PSU Executive Secretary (Govt.of India - Deptt.of AE) for 24 years. Also worked for 6 years in Engineering colleges as Training & Placement Manager. Also worked for 5 years at various NGOs. 

Presently turned as Poet. Novelist, Song and Story Writer. 


Ravi: What’s your favorite short story?

Markandeyulu: WHAT I CAN DO IN MY LIFE. Its a Scientific Short Story, for making a movie. 


Ravi: The Best piece of writing advice? 

Markandeyulu: Whatever thoughts you generate in mind, please note it down. Make a draft. Add some additional related content like sayings, quotations, mal-masala, etc, and make a final draft of your story. First of all, youth to make a habit of reading and writing. Go on writing and writing. Literature is everybody's property. Unless one practice writing of thoughts generated in one's own mind, a writer cannot become an Author or a Poet. Academic studies are different. Literary writing is different. Writing habits is the best habit. More so, there will be self-satisfaction and peace of mind.


Ravi: Where do you write? 

Markandeyulu: I write on all social media, international websites, KDP Amazon, Smashwords, Flipcart, Story Mirror, various Journals, and Magazines, etc. Even I published more than Ten (10) books as of today. All in English version through well-know publishers. 


Ravi: Where do you get your ideas? 

Markandeyulu: I get generated all the ideas from my mind, I catch up from TV, News Papers, YouTube and other multi-media channels and from National News. 


Ravi: Does writing energize or exhaust you?

Markandeyulu: Not much energization, but I get peace of mind and have self-satisfaction. I keep my mind in ship-shape condition. I try to put Of course my mind-wavelength in perfect condition. Exhausting? Of course, I do get exhausted because of the age factor. But, I don't feel like exhausting my energy. Rather I feel happy to write something useful and put it in social media for readers' views. Most of the readers endorse my writing as Good or Excellent 


Ravi: How long on average does it take you to write a book? 

Markandeyulu: 60 days average for writing a book. But, the time is taken for setting, proofreading, reorganizing, corrections, deletions, additions all these take more time. This is called Gigs Management


Ravi: If you had to do something differently as a child or teenager to become a better writer  as an adult, what would you do?  Markandeyulu: The learning process is infinite. Actually, teens and youth have more new technologies and ideas. Adults have to learn a few new things to learn from youngsters. It's true. There is no doubt about it. Adults have to learn many things from youth. Adults are not perfect all times in Literary or writing or in any other field. Everybody can't become William Shakespeare. But most writers and authors and poets or poetesses just follow the writing techniques and language standard established by famous poets and Novelists. 

Ravi: What is your favorite childhood book?  Markandeyulu: TREASURE ISLAND. Its a great book. I got First Prize in Third Class in the School Mono Action Competition.  Ravi: What are your favorite literary journals?  Markandeyulu: There are many journals and magazines. I can't say one is good, one is average. All are good journals and magazines.  Ravi: What one thing would you give up to become a better writer.  Markandeyulu: I leave worries and traffic jams in my mind to become a better writer. I prefer the peacefulness. Pleasant thinking is needed to write better.  Ravi: What was your hardest scene to write?  Markandeyulu: KING KONG RAJ PLANT AND THE WARRIOR (The True Hero) War Scenes in a Planet. It's a total story of 1,25,000 Word Count. This Novel is yer to be published. It's for making a Hollywood Movie like Bahu Bali movie.  I want yo give this novel story to any Producer or Filmmaker who approaches me on First Approach First Deal.  Ravi: Do you Google yourself? Markandeyulu: Yes. I Google myself. It's through search engines. Google it and Learn and Know it. I don't depend on others. I work for myself to learn worldly things. I am self-reliant and self-confident, which may come in life. I believe myself. I trust myself. Ravi: Do you hide any secrets in your books that only a few people will find? Markandeyulu: No secrets maintenance in books. My book contents are all open to all readers.  Ravi: Do you read your book reviews? How do you deal with bad or good ones? Markandeyulu: I read my book reviews. In the writing field, there are bad things and good things, criticisms always are there life long. If bad things somebody pinpoints, I try to correct myself. If good things somebody expresses, I just feel happy and I get some sort of self-satisfaction. Ravi: Have you read anything that made you think differently about fiction? Markandeyulu: Yes. I read and wrote differently a few books on horror fantasy, poems, etc, what I feel so.  Ravi: What did you edit out of this book? Markandeyulu: Presentation. Expression. Flashback etc.  Ravi: How many hours a day do you write? Markandeyulu: Minimum of 8 hours per day. I work and write/read/view as Passion.  Ravi: How long were you a part-time writer before you became a full-time one? Markandeyulu: 20 years as a part-time writer to become a full-time writer.  Ravi: What kind of research do you do, and how long do you spend researching before beginning a book? Markandeyulu: Researching in the writing field is very essential. Google search is the best thing. Note the points. Copy and paste a few relevant photos. Add more contents from reading knowledge. Make a good draft. Make it final with gigs Management.  Ravi: What’s the best way to market your books? Markandeyulu: Social Media. Amazons books Listings. Book publishers Distribution Listings, Schools and colleges sales Marketing and Advertising strategies are to be followed. Writing and publishing a book is one part. Marketing, Sales Cash realizations are another part. Both to be attended to meticulously yo be a successful author/writer in the global look.  Ravi: How many unpublished and half-finished books do you have? Markandeyulu: Ten (10) Books contents are ready for publication. All-Story Books. All-Story contents are useful for making short or full feature films. Small budget films or for making big-budget films. Ravi: How did publishing your first book change your process of writing? Markandeyulu: There is always a change from the first book to second to the third book, so on and so forth. Its an experience. Its a knowledge writing with new techniques.  Ravi: If you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be? Markandeyulu: Poems and short stories. Social related work and articles for youth.  Ravi: What other authors are you friends with, and how do they help you become a better writer? Markandeyulu: I have many authors and poets/poetesses throughout the globe. All are my friends, what I feel. I maintain friendships with them. Moreover, they research like my work.  Ravi: Do you try more to be original or to deliver to readers what they want?.  Markandeyulu: My work is always original. I don't copy. I research it through search engines and other books. I create new ideas. I generate new ideas for implementation.  Ravi: What advice do you have for writers? Markandeyulu: To read. To write. To have good contacts with global authors and poets. To be with global poetic groups. 

Ravi: What are the most important magazines for writers to subscribe to? Markandeyulu: its ones like to subscribe to different types of journals abs magazines. Everybody's mindset is different.  Ravi: Tell me about your recent book to our RaviReads Blog Readers? Markandeyulu: My books published so far are Ten (10).
